The International Palm Society welcomed the return of the Biennial tour which took place October 9-15, 2022 on the enchanted islands of Hawaii!

The 2022 Hawaiian Biennial delivered fun for all ages and interests. The event included Oahu and the “big island” of Hawaii with an optional pre-tour in Maui. Attendees saw an astonishingly diverse collection of palm species from Archontophoenix to Zombia as well as the endemic palm species of the Pritchardia.

Imagine exploring beautiful gardens, cloud forests, volcanos, and waterfalls (not to mention some of the best beaches) with knowledgeable palm botanists from the Kew, Montgomery, and Fairchild Gardens along with passionate hobbyists and nurserymen. We offered unequaled opportunities to view spectacular plants but also focused on fun, fellowship, good food, and wine. A few notable stops on the 2022 Hawaiian biennial included Lyon Arboretum, Foster Botanical Garden, Floribunda Palms, Ho’omaluhia, Casa de las Palmas Rainbow Falls Volcano National Park. And best of all, we offered exclusive access to many exquisite private gardens and estates with premiere palm and tropical plant collections which are not open to the public.
