Support the IPS when You Shop Online

Did you know that you can support the International Palm Society every time you shop on Amazon? Through Amazon’s charitable giving program, AmazonSmile, you can select the IPS as your designated charity, and Amazon will donate 0.5% of your purchase prices to the IPS. If you shop on Amazon (and don’t we all?), why not let Amazon help the IPS in its mission to conserve, learn about and grow palms?

Signing up for AmazonSmile is easy.

Go to https://smile.amazon.com or just enter smile.amazon.com in your browser.

You will land on the sign in page. Use your existing Amazon username and password (or create an account, if you do not already have one).

Type “International Palm Society” in the box where it says, “Pick your own charity.”

Amazon will show you several similar charities. The IPS is identified as “International Palm Society, inc., Ross, CA.” Press the Select button.

Amazon will show you a message for your approval. It says, “I understand that I must always start at smile.amazon.com to support International Palm Society inc.” Just check the box and then press the Start Shopping button.

Remember, you must use smile.amazon.com, not amazon.com, as your entry point. Once you enter, the sites are identical, and your lists, saved addresses, and other personal data are all there. You know you are supporting the IPS when you see the message below the AmazonSmile search bar every time you shop.

If you have an Android phone, you can download the AmazonSmile app and make your purchases through the app, following a similar sign-up procedure. Shop at AmazonSmile and help grow your IPS.
