The International Palm Society is excited to welcome the return of the Biennial tour and would like to invite you to the 32nd Biennial October 9-15, 2022!
This year the IPS is offering an exclusive opportunity to visit the 50th state of the USA, the enchanted islands of Hawaii.
The 2022 Hawaiian Biennial promises to deliver for all ages and interests. The event will include Oahu and the “big island” of Hawaii with an optional pre-tour in Maui. Attendees will see an astonishingly diverse collection of palm species from Archontophoenix to Zombia as well as the endemic palm species of the Pritchardia.
Imagine exploring beautiful gardens, cloud forests, volcanos, and waterfalls (not to mention some of the best beaches) with knowledgeable palm botanists from the Kew, Montgomery, and Fairchild Gardens along with passionate hobbyists and nurserymen. Sure, we will have an unequaled opportunity to view spectacular plants, but this trip is also about fun, fellowship, good food, and wine. A few notable stops on the 2022 Hawaiian biennial will include Lyon Arboretum, Foster Botanical Garden, Floribunda Palms, Ho’omaluhia, Casa de las Palmas Rainbow Falls Volcano National Park. And best of all, access to many exquisite private gardens and estates with premiere palm and tropical plant collections which are not open to the public.
