2022 Biennial Tour

The International Palm Society is excited to welcome the return of the Biennial tour!

This year, the IPS is offering an exclusive opportunity to visit the 50th state of the USA, the enchanted islands of Hawaii!

The 2022 Hawaiian Biennial promises to deliver for all ages and interests. The event will include Oahu and the “big island” of Hawaii. Attendees will see an astonishingly diverse collection of palm species from Archontophoenix to Zombia as well as the endemic palm species of the Pritchardia

Imagine exploring beautiful gardens, cloud forests, volcanos, and waterfalls (not to mention some of the best beaches) with experts from leading botanical gardens along with passionate hobbyists and nurserymen. Special guest speakers include Andrew J. Henderson, Ph.D., Curator Emeritus, Institute of Systematic Botany, and Mike DeMotta, curator for living collections for the National Tropical Botanic Garden for over 16 years.

Sure, we will have an unequaled opportunity to view spectacular plants, but this trip is also about fun, fellowship, good food, and wine.

Here's a glimpse of What you Can look forward to seeing!
