IPS Biennials The International Palm Society holds a Biennial every two years. The most recent event was the 2008 IPS Biennial in Costa Rica, May 3 - May 10, 2008. Plans for future Biennial include Brazil in 2010 (tentatively March); and Thailand in 2012 (tentatively September). The extremely popular biennials, which are open to all IPS members, are sponsored by the International Palm Society and are generally hosted by local residents and IPS members living in the host country. They provide members with an unparalleled opportunity to view a wide variety of Palms in their native habitats, visit unique tropical gardens, learn more about Palms and Cycads and meet and converse with other palm enthusiasts. Typically some 200 members attend the biennials. The IPS is currently compiling data and photos from past biennials and hopes to post this information to the web site shortly..
